JAKARTA - Karo HR Riau Police Grand Commissioner Agesullah M. Ridha said that students are an important means of maintaining the spirit of sustainability of the natural ecosystem for the future.

It is known that a number of students participated in Green Leadership Academy activities. In addition, they also visited the Green Harmoni Tubes (THH), an environmental education center fostered by the Riau Police.

"Through this visit, we hope that students will not only learn about the importance of protecting nature, but can also become educational agents that transmit the spirit of sustainability to the surrounding environment," said Agissaullah to reporters, Saturday, September 20.

According to him, THH was originally a training facility belonging to the DPP which had not been well managed. Thanks to the support of the Riau Police Chief, this facility was converted into a community training center, as well as a Tree Bank.

To date, 10,000 seeds have been collected, with around 300 seeds already distributed to online motorcycle taxi drivers at the Riau Police and to the TNI unit.

The recipients of the seeds provide testimony that the seeds are planted with love, as a tangible manifestation of concern for the environment.

THH not only functions as a nursery, but also as an environmental education center that targets various groups. Kindergarten and elementary school children are often invited to come to learn to plant seeds, then asked to share the experience with their family and friends.

"Planting one tree is not just planting live logs, but planting hope for the future. The more young people are involved, the stronger their ties to nature," added Agisullah.

During this visit by students, the Riau Police also symbolically handed over tree seedlings. The seeds will be planted by the Green Harmoni Tubes team, while students will still be contacted again to monitor the development of the trees planted in their names.

This system is designed so that students feel directly involved and have emotional ties to the environment.

Furthermore, the THH of the Riau Police is also projected as a training and empowerment place. Here, members of the National Police will receive training on planting corn to support national food security, after previously the harvest results were evaluated not optimal. All police chiefs of the Riau Police are planned to take part in this training.

THH will also function as a preparation location for members who enter retirement, so that they have new skills such as raising livestock, farming, or managing productive businesses.

This is because in THH, apart from the existence of a tree bank, there are also chicken farming facilities, goats, fish breeding, nurseries, and other training facilities.

In addition, members who undergo special coaching from Propam will be directed to participate in positive activities at THH.

The THH concept itself not only stores seeds, but creates a measurable green ecosystem. Each seed distributed will be recorded with a digital system and a QR Code that records the type of tree, the location of planting, to the party that takes care of it.

This transparency ensures the sustainability of the green movement that involves many parties, ranging from the general public, students, nature-loving communities, the business world, to local governments.

"If we love nature, then nature will love us again. That's why we open up input space from students so that this Green Harmonious Tubes program is more useful and meaningful for all parties," said Agissaullah.
