The Aceh Government has expanded the Trans Koetaradja route in Banda Aceh City after receiving a request from the public who need the free bus transportation service.

"The expansion of Trans Koetaradja services is a form of m's response to the input of a number of people that we have received so far," said Head of the Aceh Transportation Service Teuku Faisal at Terminal Type A Banda Aceh, Wednesday, September 18.

The launch of the new Trans Koetaradja route was carried out in the peak activity of commemorating the 2025 National Transportation Day (Harhubnas) at the Trans Koetaradja Depot, Banda Aceh Type A Terminal.

The addition of the service is the nine feeder route (Rute Simpang Mesra - Kajhu), served by two medium bus units with an operational time of 06.50 WIB until 17.30 WIB.

This route starts with the Mesra Intersection of Banda Aceh City, passes Jalan Laksamana Malahayati and ends at the Labuy Market, Baitussalam District, Aceh Besar District.

T Faisal said that the main goal of the Trans Koetaradja mass transportation service is to overcome congestion and provide easy and comfortable means of transportation for the people of Aceh who are in the provincial capital.

"The Trans Koetaradja bus has been operating since 2016 and is still free because it is subsidized by the Aceh Government," he said.

He hopes that the public can take advantage of Trans Koetaradja bus services in their daily activities, either to go to work, shop at the market, take children to school, or other daily activities.

"Of course this is a matter of pride for us that there is a new route that we launch right at the Harhubnas celebration, as well as proof of the service of transportation personnel for the country," he said.

For information, the first Trans Koetaradja Bus has been operating since 2016 and continues to experience additions, at the beginning only 25 units, and currently there have been 59 bus units.

For the number of permanent bus stops in 2016 as many as 16 units, now there are 94 units. In 2016 the route served is only one route, now it has become 14 routes. Then, the length of the road that was traversed in 2016 along 12.6 km, now reaches 184.4 km in the Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar areas.

Meanwhile, Aceh Regional Secretary (Sekda) M Nasir emphasized the importance of strengthening connectivity between regions in Aceh, both land and sea, which requires major breakthroughs.

He gave an example, such as road access to Muara Situlen, Southeast Aceh Regency, which should have been taken within an hour from Subulussalam City, but still had to make a round through North Sumatra for up to seven hours.

"Alhamdulillah, I heard that there has been a positive signal from the Ministry of Public Works to open this access (Subulussalam - Southeast Aceh)," he said.

Then, access from Banda Aceh City to Aceh Singkil takes 16 hours, as well as to the Simeulue islands. So, it is hoped that this momentum should be used to build regional connectivity.

"So, we must take advantage of the momentum of Harhubnas to build connectivity that is easier, cheaper, and faster," said M Nasir.
