KPK Checks LHKPN Prabumulih Mayor After Viral Principal Removed Because Of Reprimand Of His Son Bringing A Car To School

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will check the assets of state administrators (LHKPN) Arlan, who is the Mayor of Prabumulih.

This check was carried out after Arlan was highlighted for removing the Principal of SMPN 1 Prabumulih, Roni Ardiansyah, who reprimanded his son after taking the car to school.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said checks would be carried out to ensure the regional head's wealth was appropriate.

"If we talk about LHKPN compliance, of course, not only complying with reporting time but also complying with its contents," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 17.

"Whether what was conveyed was appropriate, correct, complete or not, it will be checked from the LHKPN report concerned," he continued.

Budi expressed his appreciation for the people who uploaded content about Arlan.

"Therefore, it is also a form of community involvement in efforts to eradicate corruption, especially in the prevention aspect," he said.

Budi reminded officials not to ignore LHKPN reporting to the KPK. This method is referred to as a form of transparency to the public about their assets.

"This LHKPN is an effective corruption prevention instrument because by opening it, the public can see, access it openly. So that it can directly monitor the ownership of assets or assets for state officials or public officials," he said.

As seen from the e-LHKPN website, Arlan is known to report his wealth when he was still a candidate for mayor of Prabumulih. His assets reached Rp19,002,737,046 but owed Rp2 billion to Rp17,002,737,046.

The LHKPN noted that Arlan had assets of 18 land and buildings with a value of Rp5,871,750,000.

As for vehicles, he only recorded ownership of three Yamaha 1 FDC/Solo motorbikes in 2022 which were valued at Rp. 8 million each; one Mitsubishi total diesel car worth Rp. 225 million; four Hino-branded tronton trucks; two units of Mitsubishi Triton Double Cabin in 2020 with a value of Rp. 280 million and Rp. 242 million; and a bulldozer with the John Deere 450J brand in 2015 with a value of Rp. 500 million. The entire vehicle was recorded with a value of Rp. 4,921,000,000.

Then Arlan also recorded ownership of other movable assets worth IDR 202,000,000 and cash equivalents worth IDR 8,007,987,046.

Today, Arlan is still in the spotlight for canceling the Principal of SMPN 1 Prabumulih. Reporting from a number of reports, he has apologized through his social media account, @cak.arlan_official.

"Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. I as the Mayor of Prabumulih apologize to Mr. Roni and the entire people of Prabumulih City. The issue of hoax news, in the media, said that Mr. Roni had been replaced and transferred to another school. This is hoax news," he said in his upload.

Arlan also explained that he did not remove the Principal of SMPN 1 Prabumulih but only reprimanded him. The warning was conveyed because there were problems with students.

"I just reprimanded Mr. Roni because at the school there was a case that made school children uncomfortable there. The case had already surfaced in the mass media, so I as the Mayor of Prabumulih called Mr. Roni, reprimanding Mr. Roni not to let it happen again, the school teacher had been transferred, one week ago."

He also denied that his son brought a car to school. He said the news was a hoax, "My son was delivered. And if this was a mistake, I as the Mayor of Prabumulih would apologize to Mr. Roni and the whole community," he concluded.
