JAKARTA - A gang of portable gas polling officers arrested by the Tanjung Priok Port Police admitted to buying portable gas cylinders through e-commerce. The tube was purchased empty and used conditions.

"For this can, there is a separate source as well. The source of the can is obtained from e-commerce. It turns out that there are also several traders at this e-commerce providing tubes with damaged or good conditions, the price is varied from Rp. 2 thousand to 10 thousand," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Tanjung Priok Port Police, AKP I Gusti Ngurah Putu Krisnha Narayana to reporters, Wednesday, September 17, 2025.

From the purchase price of used portable tubes with various brands, the perpetrators managed to refill the gas and re-sell it through online sales.

"They bought a good portable tube and then repackaged it until it was finally used for personal gain," he said.

Kasat said that this subsidized gas cylinder should be accepted by the public with certain abilities or advantages, but instead it is used for personal gain by the suspects.

Meanwhile, according to the suspect's confession, they sold the mixed portable gas cylinders through online sales in the marketplace and to other boarding house residents directly.

"It is sold to boarding houses that are not allowed to use 3 kilos of gas cylinders, so they use portable tubes (cook)," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Tanjung Priok Port Police managed to dismantle a 3 kilogram subsidized fuel supply syndicate into a number of 230 gram portable cans.

A total of 6 suspected syndicates who mixed portable gas cylinders were arrested by the police. They usually do mixing in their respective homes.
