JAKARTA - Villarreal midfielder Thomas Partey was present on Wednesday at a London court and pleaded not guilty to allegations of rape and sexual assault involving three women.
Partey, Ghana's international player, was charged with five cases of rape of two women, plus one charge of sexual assault on a third woman, between April 2021 and June 2022.
The sexual crime case allegedly occurred when Partey played for Premier League football club Arsenal.
He left the club this summer and joined Spanish club Villarreal.
The 32-year-old man appeared at the Southwark Crown Court pier and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth and file an innocent defense.
