JAMBI - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI, Sari Yuliati, emphasized that the working visit of Commission III of the DPR RI to various regions was carried out to accelerate the discussion of the Draft Criminal Procedure Code (RUU KUHAP). This is important so that the implementation of the new Criminal Code on January 2, 2026 has a strong legal basis for the procedural law.

Commission III is discussing the Criminal Procedure Code Bill as an evaluation of the Criminal Procedure Code in 1981. We are traveling around Indonesia to absorb the aspirations of the public and law enforcement officials directly," said Sari, who also serves as Chair of the Working Visit Team for the Input of the Criminal Procedure Code Bill, at the Jambi Police Headquarters, Jambi, Saturday, September 13.

During a working visit to Jambi Province, Sari appreciated the involvement of law enforcement officers in providing input. According to him, the differences in views that arise are actually constructive discussion material for Commission III of the DPR RI.

"Alhamdulillah, in Jambi we will discuss it optimally. There are several things that have different points of view, and it is very good for us to seriously discuss later in Commission III," explained the politician from the Golkar Party faction.

Similarly, Member of Commission III of the DPR RI Hinca Panjaitan added that ideally the new Criminal Procedure Code can be ratified in conjunction with the enactment of the new Criminal Code in 2026. Ideally, the Criminal Code 2026 is new, the Criminal Procedure Code is also new. Even without the new Criminal Procedure Code, it is still running, but it is not complete, it is not yet perfect. Therefore, we will try to pursue it, hopefully it can be achieved," he said.
