Commission VI Of The House Of Representatives Disappointed Pertamina As If They Were Reluctant To Discuss Alternative Fuel Distribution On The Horseshoe

Member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Rivqy Abdul Halim, stated that his party continues to fight for alternative fuel distribution (BBM) in the Horseshoe area. Even Rivqy was disappointed that the board of directors of PT Pertamina was slow in responding to various alternative distribution solutions in the region that had experienced a shortage of fuel.

"I sent an official letter to Pertamina for a meeting to discuss the distribution of fuel. But those who attended were from the public relations office who did not hold technical functions. This was very disappointing and harassing," Rivqy told reporters, Saturday, September 13.

"I want to find a solution for the people, who experience a shortage of fuel for four days in a row, not asking for a ceremonial program," he said.

The PKB legislator from the East Java electoral district assessed that Pertamina was less sensitive in absorbing people's aspirations. According to him, the Pertamina Board of Directors should be responsive to various proposals for solutions to the distribution of fuel in the Tapal Kuda area which is often constrained, triggering scarcity.

However, Rivqy was involved because efforts to contact Pertamina's Managing Director were ignored. "I was also disappointed at that time that I called the President Director up to 8 times but was not picked up. I captured it, I have proof that I didn't pick up the phone," he said.

According to Rivqy, the problem of distributing fuel in the southern region of Java is still risky. He said the results of the meeting with the National Oil and Gas Entrepreneurship Association (Hiswana Migas) also confirmed that the availability of fuel in the area was not yet fully guaranteed, so a new depot was needed to strengthen supply.

In addition, Rivqy assessed the need for alternative fuel distribution, not only by land by trucking, but also using rail transportation modes. This is considered more efficient and able to reduce the risk of scarcity.

Pertamina has a depot land in Jember that can be reused. Why not use it? The distribution to Malang alone has already used a train, Jember should also be able to. I am afraid that there is a business interest behind the dominance of distribution through trucks," he said.

Rivqy reminded that Pertamina must seriously strengthen national energy security with a more integrated distribution system and have a contingency plan. Moreover, Pertamina holds the dominance of national energy supply so that its responsibility is great for the people.

"Pertamina should support President Prabowo Subianto's spirit to enforce the mandate of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution which states that the earth, water and natural wealth contained in it are controlled by the state and used as much as possible for the prosperity of the people," he concluded.
