JAKARTA - The International Federation of Journalists has denounced Israel's targeting of the Palestinian press and destroyed buildings housing media offices in Gaza.
The federation said media offices had been bombed, Palestinian and international journalists arrested, beaten and threatened by Israeli forces amid escalating violence in the Gaza Strip.

The statement added that since tensions began rising in Jerusalem last month, some 27 media professionals have been detained by Israeli forces.
In an ongoing Israeli offensive in Gaza, warplanes destroyed several multi-storey buildings in enclaves including buildings housing dozens of local and international media offices.
The attack in Gaza has killed 83 Palestinians and wounded 487 others, the Palestinian Health Ministry said.
