A Fisherman Is Reported Missing In Lake Maninjau While Looking For Fish

LUBUK BASUNG - A fisherman in Tanjung Raya, Agam Regency, West Sumatra was reported missing in Lake Maninjau while looking for fish, precisely in Jorong Nagari, Nagari or Sungai Batang Village, this morning.

Tanjung Raya Police Chief AKP Muzakar said the residents of Linggai, Nagari Duo Koto, Tanjung Raya District disappeared while looking for fish by diving to catch fish.

"The victim (Dodi Prinando) looked for fish by diving to shoot fish and never came out to the surface of Lake Maninjau," he said in Lubuk Basung, Antara, Friday, September 12.

He said the witness on behalf of Awaludin (49), a resident of Nagari, Nagari Sungai Batang, saw that the victim did not appear on the surface of the volcanic lake.

After that, Awaludin reported the incident to the nagari government and reported it to the Tanjung Raya Police.

Receiving the report, his party immediately dispatched personnel to the location where the victim was missing.

"We immediately dispatched members to the location to look for victims who were reported missing in Lake Maninjau," he said.

He added that currently a joint team from the Agam Regency Government from the Agam Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Agam Police, sub-district government, nagari government and people are looking for victims.

The search for victims at the point where the victims dived to find fish to the surrounding area by boat. "Hopefully the victim can be found as soon as possible," he said.
