The Directorate General of Community Guidance (Bimas) of the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) is proposing a functional position of Hindu religious education teachers of 2,418 in 2025.
"The addition of this formation is expected to be able to strengthen the role of Hindu religious teachers in improving the quality of education and forming a religious, intelligent, and character generation," said Director General of Hindu Guidance at the Ministry of Religion I Nengah Duija in Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, September 11.
The submission of this formation is a follow-up to the approval of 191,296 functional positions of the Ministry of Religion which has been approved by the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) at the July 21, 2025 meeting.
The details of the formation include 967 First Expert formations, 731 Young Expert formations, 660 Intermediate Expert formations, and 60 Main Expert formations.
According to him, this submission was made based on the results of the calculation of the formation system.gtk.kemendikbud.go.id which adjusted the real needs in the field.
According to him, Hindu religious education teachers have a strategic role, not only as teachers, but also spiritual guides who instill Weda's teachings in student life.
With the addition of thousands of new formations, he said, it is hoped that the distribution of Hindu teachers in various regions, especially areas with large Hindu numbers, can be more evenly distributed.
"With this additional formation, it is hoped that Hindu Religious Education teachers can play an active role in producing a religious generation, having character, as well as being able to implement Weda's teachings in daily life," said Duija.
