JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Governor of DKI Jakarta for Social Communication, Chico Hakim hopes that there will be a solution to solve the problem of Jakarta fishermen from the presence of concrete embankments in sea waters built near the Cilincing area, North Jakarta.
This is in response to complaints from fishermen who find it difficult to find fish because they have to circle the embankment to access to the sea.
"We will see what the problem is for fishermen regarding this and in the future, hopefully there will be a solution to mitigate," Chico told reporters, Thursday, September 11.
Chico claimed that DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung had paid attention to the emergence of complaints from fishermen from the concrete embankment. However, until now the DKI Provincial Government has not followed up on this problem.
"Until now we are still trying to hear and take an inventory of the problems that arise related to what happened to the construction of the embankment," said Chico.
Chico revealed that the permit for the construction of the concrete embankment, which has recently been in the spotlight on social media, is not the authority of the DKI Provincial Government, but the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).
"This is the authority of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. Because it is the central authority managed by the Marunda Port, the authority lies with the KKP regarding licensing," he said.

Social media was shocked by a concrete embankment in the coastal area of the Cilincing area, North Jakarta. The existence of the embankment was recorded in a video uploaded to the Instagram account @cilinginfo.
The video was recorded by a fishing boat from above the boat. You can see concrete with a length of 2 to 3 kilometers which seems to divide the waters on the north coast of Jakarta. The fisherman revealed that he had to go far to the ocean in order to find fish.
"The concrete embankment on the Cilincing Coast makes it difficult for coastal fishermen to pass. There are approximately 23 kilometers long. Initially, the crossing between fishermen made it difficult to find fish because they had to turn far away from the concrete embankment," said a fisherman in the video.
Until now, it is not known who the owner built the concrete embankment. The existence of this new embankment that has drawn public spotlight is still a mystery.
