Police Name 36 Suspects For Destruction Of Blitar Police Headquarters

BLITAR - The Blitar City Police, East Java, named 36 people as suspects in the attack and destruction of the Blitar City Police Headquarters on Sunday (31/8) in the morning.

Blitar City Police Chief AKBPda Yudho Uly said the suspects were questioned and named as suspects from the results of intensive examinations and evidence.

"We have determined that 16 suspects were detained and 20 children, so they were not detained," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 10.

He said the incident occurred in three waves, from Saturday (30/8) night to Sunday (31/8) in the morning.

The riot took place around Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, precisely the northern intersection of the Blitar City Police Headquarters. The incident started with a group of people who gathered and closed the road on motorbikes.

The mob then carried out an attack, causing dozens of members to also suffer injuries.

In the action, there were also masses carrying bonds, air rifles, pieces of iron, and various other tools.

Investigators confiscated an air rifle and its owner, ATB, a resident of Blitar City. There are also bullets in the rifle.

In addition, there are three bonds that the suspect has also prepared. One bondet has been tried by the person concerned and has not had time to be thrown at the officer.

The police chief said that from the police investigation, the bondet was recognized as the remainder of the firecrackers.

The police also continue to investigate this case. The results of the investigation show that they are members of the WhatsApp group. There are many groups that are known to officers, from the results of cell phone checks.

Selain itu, Polres Blitar Kota juga koordinasi dengan Polres Blitar terkait dengan kasus tersebut. Massa selain melakukan aksinya di Kota Blitar, juga melakukan aksi di Kabupaten Blitar. Massa bahkan membakar gedung DPRD kabupaten tersebut.

"We continue to develop and this has not been completed. We are collaborating with the Blitar Police Satreskrim. Cooperation is looking for other possible perpetrators who have not been found," he said.

Dalam kasus tersebut untuk tersangka yang menembak polisi dijerat dengan UU Darurat Nomor 12 Tahun 1951 dengan ancaman hukuman 20 tahun penjara atau seumur hidup.

Meanwhile, the perpetrators of the officers' attackers are threatened with Article 213 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code Subsidiary Article 212 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of five years.
