Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Herman Khaeron, responded to the controversial statement by the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadive, who was just appointed by President Prabowo a few days ago. He asked public officials, especially in the class of ministers, to give a calming statement in the midst of the current situation of the nation.

"Yes, I think it's just talking about the essence. Public officials talk essentially, which is subtantiated, yes, what really calms and at the same time can give hope," said Herman Khaeron at the DPR building, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 10.

"It can really be what he said the same as what he did. What he had said was also the result," continued the member of Commission VI of the DPR.

Herman then brought up the message of the Chairman of the Democrats as well as the Coordinating Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) so that all members of the DPR from the Democrats maintain their attitude and prioritize the interests of the people.

"I think if I think the general chairman, we have to be sensitive, we have to see how the people, people first are. The people are the main ones and of course have to look after them there. So that whoever is an official, a representative of the people, what they do is in accordance with their expectations and aspirations," said Herman.

Previously, the Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadive, became a public conversation after issuing several controversial statements. Even though he was recently appointed to replace Sri Mulyani on Monday, September 8.

One of the statements that immediately drew criticism when he considered the 17+8 movement as the voice of a small part of the people.

According to Purbaya, the demand will disappear automatically, once he manages to create economic growth of 6 to 7 percent. Because when economic growth reaches 6-7 percent, according to him, people will be busy looking for work and eating well rather than choosing to demonstrate.
