Police Detain 2 Residents Of Cilacap Makers And Counterfeit Money Dealers In Wonosobo

JATENG - The Wonosobo Resort Police (Polres), Central Java (Central Java), detained two makers and dealers of counterfeit money with the initials S and BW who are residents of Cilacap Regency.

Wonosobo Police Chief AKBP Kasim Akbar Bantilan said, as a result of the disclosure, officers secured the remaining Rp100,000 and Rp50,000 counterfeit notes of Rp13.4 million and tools to make counterfeit money.

According to him, this disclosure started when suspect S was caught circulating counterfeit money at Kertek Market, Wonosobo Regency on September 4.

"Officers secured as many as 109 counterfeit notes of Rp100 thousand and 50 counterfeit notes of Rp50 thousand which the perpetrators had not yet had time to distribute," he said, confiscated by Antara.

In addition, evidence of counterfeit money makers such as printers, barbershops, paints, and paper was also secured.

"The article we are wearing is related to Article 36 paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 26 paragraph 3 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency," he said.

According to him, the perpetrators who have been sentenced to 15 years in prison are a syndicate of counterfeit money makers and dealers in the Banyumas and Wonosobo regions since early 2025.

In fact, the wife of one of the perpetrators is currently also being held at the Purbalingga Police with the same case.
