KPK Explores Reasons Immanuel Ebenezer Hides Mercedes Benz To BAIC After OTT

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will investigate the reason why Immanuel Ebenezer hid three cars from his official residence after the arrest operation (OTT) was held. This process is important to know whether or not elements hinder investigations.

"We are investigating whether it (three cars, red) was hidden spontaneously, yes. This means spontaneously, Mr. IEG then ordered his brother and all kinds of things to hide the car and others," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted Wednesday, September 10.

If Immanuel deliberately hides, then the KPK will not apply the article on the obstruction of the investigation. Because, as a suspect, the former deputy minister of the era of President Prabowo Subianto has the right to deny.

"The suspect has the right to blasphemy, the right to renegence, the right not to admit, is like that. Now the disbelieving rights of the suspect are not included in the challenge if the suspect is the right to be disadvantaged," he said.

"But if there are parties who are outside the suspect then help to hide, help obstruct, well, that can be subject to an obstruction article," continued Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigations.

As for now, the three cars have been confiscated by KPK investigators after being escorted by Immanuel Ebenezer. The vehicle is branded Mercedes Benz, BAIC, and Land Cruiser.

"Previously, we said that the KPK had indeed searched three four-wheeled vehicles suspected of being involved in this case which was controlled by brother IEG," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 9.

"From the three, previously one had been delivered and today the two vehicles were brought back by the KPK," continued Budi.

Previously reported, the KPK named 11 suspects in connection with the alleged extortion of handling work safety and health certificates (K3). This determination began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) that arrested 14 people, including the Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer.

The following is a list of suspects named by the KPK:

1. Irvian Bobby Mahendro as Coordinator for Institutional and Personnel Affairs K3 of 2022-2025; 2. Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra as Coordinator for Testing and Evaluation of Work Safety Competency until now; 3. Subhan as Sub-Coordinator of Work Safety Dit. K3 Development in 2020-2025;4. Anitasari Kusumawati as Coordinator of Partnerships and Work Health Personnel in 2020 until now; 5. Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan as Deputy Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024-2029;6. Fahrurozi as Director General of Binwasnaker and K3 in March 2025 until now; 7. Hery Sutanto as Director of Institutional Development in 2021-February 2025; 8. Sekarsari Kartika Putri as sub-coordinator; 9. Supriadi as coordinator; 10. Temurila as PT KEM Indonesia; and 11. Miki Mahfud as PT KEM Indonesia's party.

The determination of the suspect began with an intensive examination and found two pieces of evidence after the silent operation was carried out. It is suspected that this extortion has been going on for a long time.

This allegation arose because of the large amount of evidence found, namely 15 cars and 7 motorbikes and Rp170 million and US$2,201 in cash.
