People's School Teacher Allowances Will Follow National Or Regional Standards

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf or familiarly called Gus Ipul, ensures that income allowances for school principals and public school teachers will be given according to the value of allowances in each region.

"If the regional allowance is higher, it will adjust, if the allowance in the region is smaller than the national one, it will follow the national average," said Gus Ipul, in his statement, Wednesday, September 10.

So far, the management of the provision of allowances is still being discussed by the Ministry of Social Affairs together with the Ministry of PAN RB and the National Civil Service Agency.

"This allowance has been discussed with the Ministry of PAN RB and the National Civil Service Agency. God willing, the rights of teachers and school principals will be given soon," he added.

On the same occasion, regarding the people's school program, Gus Ipul explained that for phase three, the government added 65 people's schools throughout Indonesia. Currently, the total public schools owned by the government reach 165 points, with a total of 16,000 students, more than 2,000 teachers and more than 4,000 education personnel.

"Now we are just waiting for infrastructure, readiness for the selection of school principals and teachers as well as student selection. We are still in the process and hope that it will run well," concluded Gus Ipul.
