Ahead Of The PPP Congress: Bangkalan DPC Support Mardiono Ketum Again

JAKARTA - The Branch Leadership Council (DPC) of the Bangkalan Regency United Development Party (PPP) expressly expressed support for Muhammad Mardiono to return to lead PPP as General Chair for the 2025'30 period.

This support was conveyed at the Bangkalan PPP Branch Work Conference (Mukercab), Tuesday (9/9/2025).

The chairman of the Bangkalan PPP DPC, Hasbullah, emphasized that the assessment of some parties who said Mardiono failed to lead PPP was not entirely appropriate. According to him, Mardiono led the party in a difficult position because he had just been appointed as Acting General Chair in the midst of a leadership period.

"We feel what he feels. Controlling the party in the middle of the road with a tight time (ahead of the election) is not an easy thing. At the DPC level alone, we are already in trouble, especially at the complex DPP level. So, it's natural that there are things that haven't been maximized," said Hasbulah.

Hasbullah added that under Mardiono's leadership, PPP's internal atmosphere remained stable even though political challenges were quite heavy.

"This party can be cool, there is no significant turmoil. That's because Mr. Mardiono leads wisely and is able to coordinate well. Therefore, we want to give him the opportunity to fully lead," he said.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Bangkalan PPP DPC, Nurhasan, added that assessing Mardiono only from the results of the 2024 General Election was unfair.

"He leads in the middle of the period, the time is narrow, so it's not optimal if he's only blamed for not qualifying for Senayan. Instead, we saw that he was the right leader to bring PPP back up," said Nurhasan.

According to Nurhasan, the Bangkalan PPP DPC sees no other figure who has experience and abilities like Mardiono to lead the party against the 2029 election. In fact, Mardiono is a PPP genuine cadre who departs from below or DPC.

"We believe with his experience and commitment, Mr. Mardiono will work harder if given a second chance. God willing, he will risk everything to bring PPP back to Senayan," he concluded.

The decision on the results of the Bangkalan Regency Mukercab is as follows:

- Supporting President Prabowo Subianto's national policies and programs

- Respect and respect for the dynamics of different views in the 10th PPP Congress, related to the national succession of the election for the General Chairperson of PPP

- Proposal and request Muhamad Mardiono to lead PPP again in order to restore the glory of PPP.

The support for Mardiono has been loud, heard from various DPCs and DPWs throughout Indonesia, which are congresses or voters ahead of the PPP Congress which will be held on 27-29 September 2025, in Jakarta. Until now, it is known that there have been no other PPP general chairman candidates who have received the most votes in addition to Mardiono.
