Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Will Pray Eid Al-Fitr At The Office House And Not Hold Open House

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin will hold Eid al-Fitr 2021 prayers at the Vice President's official residence, Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta, Thursday, May 13, tomorrow. Activities will be followed by a limited number of worshipers.

"Eid prayer is planned to start at 07.00 WIB with limited congregation. Will act as khatib this year namely Ustaz Abdul Muiz Ali," vice president spokesman Masduki Baidlowi said in a written statement, Wednesday, May 12.

This activity was held on a limited basis because the COVID-19 pandemic is still happening.

In addition to holding prayers in his office house, Ma'ruf also certainly will not hold open house activities.

This is in line with the Circular Letter (SE) issued by the Minister of Home Affairs, namely SE Number 800/2794/SJ concerning Restrictions on Iftar Activities during Ramadan and Banning Open House/Halal Bihalal on Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri/2021.

"This decision was taken as one of the government's efforts in breaking the chain of spread of the Covid-19 virus that still plagues the country," Masduki said.

Furthermore, the government continues to strive to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 in the country. "People are constantly asked to do 5 M, namely wearing masks, washing hands with soap and running water, keeping distance, staying away from crowds, and reducing mobility," he concluded.
