West Java (Jabar) Governor Dedi Mulyadi promised to commit to following up on the aspirations of students in the West Java Student Dialogue and Audience Forum at Gedung Sate, Bandung, this Wednesday.

In the forum which was also attended by the ranks of the West Java Provincial Government, the Chairperson of the West Java DPRD, the West Java Police Chief and the Siliwangi Military Commander III, various criticisms and demands were submitted so that the provincial government (Pemprov) and the West Java DPRD immediately took concrete steps ranging from the matter of accelerating the Asset Confiscation Bill, regional budgeting systems, to controlling legislative member allowances.

"We will immediately follow up the petition to us and we will continue all of it, which is what our region does, which to our center is accommodating to be delivered. So we have the same commitment so that this country is better," said Dedi, quoted by Antara.

Regarding regional budgeting that is requested to be directed to programs that are beneficial to the community, Dedi revealed that his party has reallocated a budget of Rp120 billion, including being used for employment insurance and repairing district/city roads, even in the midst of ongoing demonstrations.

"Among other things, for employment insurance, then roads in regencies/cities that are still bad are because the budget allocation system is not a priority. And we have made a circular to immediately become a priority scale, including Tasik, Cirebon, Cianjur, then we will fix all kinds of waste issues," said Dedi.

Dedi said that for the proposal to the central government, his party is ready to take actions to accommodate these aspirations.

Regarding this dialogue event, Dedi expressed his appreciation with quite a number present, where according to the data he received, around 1,048 of the 143 universities throughout West Java were present.

"This is relatively quite a lot," he said.

Dedi Mulyadi previously promised to facilitate students to have an open dialogue with the West Java DPRD.

Hundreds of students from representatives of the Student Executive Board (BEM) who are intra-campus student organizations attended and conveyed their aspirations.

Most of the aspirations were conveyed regarding the push to accelerate the ratification of the Asset Confiscation Bill for corruptors, Polri reform, incidents of tear gas around the Unpas and Unisba Campus, to demands for transparency of legislative member benefits such as the DPR and DPRD. Including criticism about regional social media content, which has more elements of populism.

This activity itself, in response to demonstrations in several regions in Indonesia in the last few days, ended in chaos, including in Bandung.

In Bandung due to the demonstration on August 29-30, 2025, at least buildings consisting of assets of the MPR RI on Jalan Diponegoro, a Sambara restaurant, a resident's house on Jalan Gempol, and two bank offices on Jalan Ir H Djuanda, West Java DPRD Building, 10 motorbikes, other food stalls, and infrastructure under the Pasupati Bridge were damaged.
