Firefighters Start Putting Out The Burning Gegana Building, Pekat Smoke Covers Kramat Raya Street

JAKARTA - A number of fire engines from the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. finally came to the location of the burning of the Gegana Headquarters on Jalan Kramat Raya, Senen District, Central Jakarta, Sunday, August 31, at around 17.05 WIB.

Meanwhile, the flames continued to burn the building which was suspected to be a warehouse where Gegana Polri's equipment was owned.

From VOI's observation, the flames continued to burn the roof of the building, causing thick smoke that enveloped the area of Jalan Kramat Raya.

In fact, the black smoke had closed two roads, blocking the visibility of vehicle drivers.

"The concept is so thick that it closes the road. Yes (the view) is blocked by smoke," said Dirman (43), a motorcyclist who passed by the location.

As a result, many motorists choose to rotate by going against the current. Several others were forced to break through the thickness of smoke on Jalan Kramat Raya.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene then carried out the extinguishing process. Officers continue to struggle to extinguish the fire.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known.

However, before the fire broke out, the building was visited by an unknown mob who looted the remaining iron from the burning vehicle and other items. Allegedly, the building was burned by an unknown person.

Until this news was written, a number of fire engines continued to arrive at the fire site to extinguish the fire.
