His party received a report of a ship accident on Wednesday at around 23.40 WIB. The KM Tegar Jaya ship sank at around 21.30 WIB after being hit by a large wave around the waters of Tegal Mas Island.

"KM Tegar Jaya sank while traveling from Condong Island to Tegal Mas Island. The ship carrying 17 people had an accident so all passengers had to save themselves," he said.

Of the total passengers, as many as 14 people were successfully evacuated by a fishing boat that was passing by and taken to the Lempasing Beach Fishing Port. Another passenger, Dedi (39), was rescued by KM Samudra who was anchoring around the scene.

The crew of KM Samudra then forwarded information on the sinking ship to the Lampung Basarnas to ask for SAR assistance, because two passengers of KM Tegar Jaya had not yet been found.

"Getting the report, we immediately deployed a team using RIB 03 to the scene to search and another team by land to Lempasing Harbor to get actual information from the crew of the ship who survived," said Deden.
