JAKARTA - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy insists Kyiv is determined to secure at least $1 billion each month from allies to buy US weapons in his war efforts against Russia.

He made the statement in a joint briefing at Kyiv with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store on Monday, August 25.

Zelenskyy said Norway could contribute to security guarantees for Ukraine in terms of air defense and maritime security.

Zelenskyy previously said Kyiv was currently securing a $1.5 billion disbursement pledge from its European allies to buy US weapons. The purchase of this weapon, called Zelenskyy, will strengthen Ukraine's defenses from Russian attacks.

"Until today, we have been promised $1.5 billion. Through the initiative of the NATO Priority Requirements List for Ukraine, NATO members can work together to buy US-made weapons for Ukraine a mechanism that really strengthens our defenses," Zelenskyy wrote on X. reported by Reuters, Thursday, August 14.

He said the Netherlands contributed $500 million, Denmark, Norway.
