JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the DPR Charles Honoris ensured that the DPR would summon the Ministry of Health regarding the plan to increase the contribution rate of the Social Security Organizing Agency or BPJS starting in 2026.

The PDI-P politician said the summons was made because he had not received a detailed explanation from the government of the plan.

"We have not received the exact information (increase BPJS contributions). Meanwhile, the statement from the government, namely the Ministry of Finance, is still confusing," Charles said in his statement, Monday, August 25.

According to Charles, the explanation provided by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati so far is not clear enough. Therefore, a clearer explanation is needed.

On that basis, Charles said Commission IX would hold a working meeting with Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin to ask for a detailed explanation tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26.

"Hopefully there will be clarity," said Charles
