Inocentius Samsul Approved To Be A Constitutional Judge, Puan Hopes There Will Be Good Synergy Between DPR-MK

JAKARTA - DPR Speaker Puan Maharani hopes that Inosentius Samsul can carry out his duties well after being officially inaugurated as a judge of the Constitutional Court (MK).

"Hopefully the best," said Puan at the DPR building, Jakarta, Thursday, August 21.

The DPR approved the sole candidate for judge of the Constitutional Court (MK) Inosentius Samsul as a constitutional judge replacing Arief Hidayat.

The approval was taken in a plenary meeting held today.

This approval is a follow-up after Inocentius underwent a fit and proper test for a candidate for a judge at the DPR Commission III, yesterday. Inosentius is the sole candidate chosen by the DPR.

Inocentius Samsul was previously the main expert official in the DPR's Expert Body and was the sole candidate chosen by the DPR. Inosentius was chosen by the DPR to take the fit and proper test to replace the constitutional judge, Arief Hidayat, who will retire in February 2026.

Regarding the assumption that Inosentius Samsul is a deposit from the DPR to oversee the DPR's initiative law in the Constitutional Court, Puan is reluctant to conclude.

He only hopes that there will be good synergy between the DPR and the Constitutional Court in the future.

"Hopefully, there will be a better and best synergy for the DPR and the Constitutional Court," said Puan.
