Prosecutors Call 4 Members Of The Medan DPRD Regarding Allegations Of The Confiscation Of Billiard Entrepreneurs

The North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Sumut) summoned four members of the Medan City DPRD to clarify the alleged extortion of a number of billiards entrepreneurs in Medan, North Sumatra.

"It is true that we have summoned a team of investigators from the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office for a request for information from members of the Medan DPRD," said Acting Head of the North Sumatra Attorney General's Office, Muhammad Husairi, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 19.

He explained that this summons was based on the investigation into the alleged extortion with a request for some money from billiards entrepreneurs allegedly carried out by four members of the Medan DPRD.

The summons for the four legislators is contained in letter Number: B-1084/L.2.5/Fd.2/08/2025 dated August 14, 2025, which was addressed by the chairman of the Medan City DPRD and signed by the North Sumatra Attorney General's Office, Mochamad Jeffry.

The four members of the Medan City DPRD who were called to sit in Commission III, namely David Roni Sinaga (DRS), Golfried Lubis (GL), Eko Aprianta (EA), and Tombel Pardede (SP).

According to him, the schedule for the examination of the four legislators took place at the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office, Jalan Jenderal Besar AH Nasution Medan on Thursday (21/8), and Friday (22/8).

"The schedule for the request for information is on Thursday and Friday," said Husairi.

The investigation team of the North Sumatra Special Prosecutor's Office has previously asked for information from three billiards entrepreneurs in Medan who are suspected of being victims of extortion.

In addition to entrepreneurs, he said, the North Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Pidsus investigation team has also examined three Medan City Government (Pemkot) officials, North Sumatra.

"The secretary of the Medan DPRD, the head of the Medan Civil Service Police Unit, as well as the head of the Medan Cooperatives and SMEs Service," said Husairi.
