Kupang Undana Lecture Building Corruption, NTT Prosecutor's Office Confiscates IDR 100 Million From Ridwan Efendi

The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) High Prosecutor's Office (Kajati) has again confiscated Rp100 million in cash related to the alleged corruption in the construction of the Nusa Cendana University (Undana) integrated lecture building in Kupang.

Head of the Information and Legal Section of the NTT Prosecutor's Office, AA Raka Putra Dharmana, said that the confiscation was carried out by a team of investigating prosecutors for Special Crimes (Pidsus) on Tuesday, August 19 afternoon.

"The confiscation process carried out by the Pidsus team has again shown its commitment to law enforcement and eradicating corruption in the regions," he told reporters in Kupang, Tuesday, that Antara had confiscated it.

He explained that the alleged corruption occurred in the construction of the Undana Faculty of Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Public Health (FKKH), which is still neglected.

The money was confiscated from Ridwan Efendi through his attorney, Hendra Saputra, the confiscation process was carried out directly by Noberthwa Lambila, the Investigating Prosecutor at the NTT Prosecutor's Office.

Raka said that previously the investigative team had confiscated Rp. 151 million from Mahmudin Al Jares through his attorney, Fery Kurniawan.

Thus, the total money that has been successfully secured by the NTT Prosecutor's Office investigators in this case reached Rp. 251 million.

Raka added that the confiscation of money was part of a series of investigations to trace the flow of funds and reveal the potential loss of state finances in the Undana integrated lecture building construction project financed by the 2024 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

He emphasized that this confiscation step was also part of the NTT Prosecutor's strategy to secure evidence, as well as ensure that the legal process was carried out in a transparent, accountable and professional manner.
