The Attorney General's Office Denies The Reason Why Silfester Matina Was Not Executed Because She Has A Brother In The South Jakarta Kejari

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) stated that the General Chairperson of the Red and White Solidarity (Solmet), Silfester Matutina, did not have a relative or rebate who served at the South Jakarta District Attorney's Office (Kejari).

The statement also denied the news circulating about the reason for the failure to carry out the execution of Silfester Matutina.

"We have checked, based on information from the South Jakarta Kejari, there is no relationship between brotherhood and South Jakarta Kejari employees," said Head of the Attorney General's Office, Anang Supriatna, quoted Thursday, August 14.

Meanwhile, regarding the application for a Review (PK) submitted by Silfester Matutina, the AGO stated that it would not interfere with the process of execution of detention against him.

Silfester Matutina is known to have officially submitted a PK application on August 5, 2025 at the South Jakarta District Court. The inaugural trial will be held on August 20, 2025.

"In principle, PK does not delay the execution process," said Anang

Regarding the execution process, Anang had previously stated that the South Jakarta District Attorney would carry out it.

However, it was not conveyed in detail about the time for the execution. It is only mentioned that it will be carried out as soon as possible.

"Regarding the Silfester, this case has been submitted and is under the authority of the South Jakarta District Attorney as the executor prosecutor," said Anang.

For information, referring to the official website of the Supreme Court (MA), Silfester Matutina was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months for a general criminal case in 2019. The verdict has permanent legal force or inkrah.

However, until now, the authorities, namely the South Jakarta District Attorney, have not made an exception even though the decision has permanent legal force since 6 years ago.
