JAKARTA - PKB politician Maman Imanul Haq responded to the demonstration in Pati asking Regent Sudewo to resign from his position, as a result of the statement about raising the PBB-P2 to 250 percent.

Maman emphasized that democracy has a certain mechanism in removing regional heads chosen by the people.

Maman appreciated the democracy that took place in Pati. It's just that, because of the communication that was cut off, actions that tended to be anarchic emerged.

"Of course we regret that it is anarchy, because in fact the people's struggle as a whole is a spirit for the emergence of a healthy and sovereign democratic process," said Maman at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 13.

However, Maman emphasized that there is a mechanism itself to deploy a leader, in this case the regional head who is elected through the Pilkada.

"Democracy has a certain mechanism. So don't let it be in the democratic process, just because there is a fee power, like that, then one has to fall," he said.

"I made an analogy in prayer. So if the priest, the law is not mandatory. So if there is an imam who forgets to Sunut, Allah Akbar, suddenly the people correct, protest, protest, by doing subhanallah, subhanallah. Imam who knows the rules of democracy, he will not rise to stand back to read qunut, he will still prostrate. It doesn't matter if people shout out, like that," he continued.

Maman confirmed that the impeachment of regional heads could be carried out through the DPRD. It's just that, he said, if the mechanism has been implemented in accordance with applicable regulations.

"That means the mechanism is okay, it's right. I don't think anyone should be dropped through the anarchism process, but must use a democratic mechanism," he explained.
