IKN Authority: People's Schools Have Been Running In The Capital Of The Archipelago

PPU - The Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) said that the People's School had been running in eight elementary schools (SD) around the IKN area in parts of North Penajam Paser Regency and Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan Province.

"Education is the strategic key to breaking the poverty chain in the IKN area," said IKN Authority spokesman Troy Pantouw, who is also the Special Staff of the Head of the Public Communication Authority when asked about education in Sepaku, Penajam Paser Utara, Antara, Monday, August 11.

The IKN Authority supports the construction of people's schools, as an effort to build a young generation who is intelligent, confident, and able to compete globally.

"So far, the People's School has been running in eight elementary schools around the IKN area," he said.

It was recorded that the results of the last evaluation gave a positive signal, the literacy skills of students increased by 30-40 percent, then strengthened English learning through the Hi5 Club.

The Hi5 Club is routinely carried out every Friday, he explained, which presents interactive conversations to add vocabulary while building students' self-confidence.

The IKN Authority together with the Tanoto Foundation are preparing an assessment to expand program coverage to second and third group schools, so that the benefits of IKN development are felt by the community, especially in the field of education.

The IKN Authority invites all parties, from local governments, educational institutions, to the private sector to join hands in building quality schools in the IKN area.
