Give Closed Responses To ITB, Prabowo Reasons For Science Not To Be Politicized

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto revealed the reason he gave a closed speech from the media crew at the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology and Industry Convention (KSTI) at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). The head of state reasoned that he did not want science to be politicized.

While attending KSTI 2025 at the Sabuga ITB Building, Bandung, West Java, Thursday, August 7, President Prabowo, who was a speaker, invited the media crew to leave, before he gave a speech to hundreds of audiences at the building, as well as in front of the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet.

"Let's be free, don't twist it, don't politicize it. We're talking about science and technology," said President Prabowo when giving information to the media after attending KSTI 2025 at the Sabuga ITB Building, Bandung, West Java, Thursday, confiscated by Antara.

The Head of State emphasized that the 2025 Indonesian Science, Technology and Industry Convention (KSTI) is a scientific space that must be maintained from politicization.

Therefore, the President assessed that the remarks he delivered in private were intended so that participants could discuss more freely and substantively, without any worries about distortion or accompaniment of public opinion.

The statement reflects President Prabowo's attitude in wanting to maintain the purity of scientific forums from practical political interests.

The 2025 KSTI is a strategic event that brings together scientists, academics, industry players, and policymakers from various national priority sectors.

President Prabowo hopes that forums like this can produce real breakthroughs for the progress of the nation in the field of science and technology.

In the forum, a number of ministers of the Red and White Cabinet were also present, including Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan P. Roeslani, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.

Then, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Head of the Central Statistics Agency Amalia Adininggar, Head of the Dadan Hindayana National Nutrition Agency, Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency Laksana Tri Handoko, Deputy Minister of Komdigi Angga Raka Prabowo and Deputy Minister of Education and Technology Stella Christie.
