JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police conducted an in-depth examination of Vanbasten Mangang Awan or VMA, a debt collector who abused the victim in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta recently. Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kelapa Gading Police, AKP Kiki Tanlim, explained that VMA used the application he bought to find his targets.

"From the results of the examination, they bought an application," said AKP Kiki Tanlim, Thursday, August 7, 2025.

It was explained that, after VMA and his colleagues bought the application, they hung out on the side of the road to check the passing motorcycle number plates in front of them.

"If someone registered in the application has arrears, usually they are the ones who immediately pursue it," he said.

AKP Kiki also said that if the debt collectors or eagle eyes managed to get a motorbike that was in arrears, they would get wages from the finance.

"From finance there is a fee if they succeed in making withdrawals, but the number varies. Until now, we can confirm that there is indeed one finance that employs them," he said.

The role of VMA is that the executor, debt collector or eagle eye (Matel), who had gone viral, persecuted a motorcyclist at the scene.

In the action, the VMA suspect launched a motorbike withdrawal on the side of the road in the North Jakarta area, especially in Kelapa Gading using an application that had been purchased by their gang.

"There was a group of eagle eyes or commonly called matel, which stopped one of the motorcyclists on the grounds of arrears in credit. There was an argument, then there was persecution from one of the debt collectors or eagle eyes with the initials VMA. The victim was kicked in the shoulder," he explained.

Currently, the victim has undergone a post-mortem to determine the injuries he suffered as a result of the abuse from the debt collector.

"The victim has been subjected to a post-mortem, the results are still waiting," he said.
