The Role Of The Former Deputy Regent Of Sumbawa Suspect Of Corruption In COVID-19 Masks: Gatherers, Offer To MSMEs

NTB - Mataram City Police (Polresta) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) revealed the role of former Deputy Regent (Wabup) Sumbawa Dewi Noviany who is a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of COVID-19 masks for the 2020 fiscal year.

"He is a collector, the person who came (to offer) to the MSME (Dewi Noviany)," said Head of the Mataram Police Satreskrim AKP Regi Halili in Mataram, Wednesday, confiscated by Antara.

In the position of Head of the Administration Division of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) NTB, Regi admitted that he did not know the position of Dewi Noviany until he could get a role as a collector in the project work under the NTB Cooperatives and MSMEs Service.

"I don't know," he replied in response to Dewi Noviany's status, who is known to be the younger brother of the former NTB Governor Dr. Zulkieflimansyah.

Likewise, when asked about the value of losses that arise from the results of the NTB BPKP audit, Regi admitted that he did not know whether Dewi Noviany as a suspect also received personal benefits.

"The point is one, everyone who decides to BPKP, we only carry out the results of the audit from BPKP," he said.

Investigators in this case named six suspects. The other five suspects have already undergone examination and continued to be detained at the Mataram Police Detention Center.

They sequentially underwent examination and detention, ranging from Wirajaya Kusuma, Kamaruddin, Cholid Tomasoang Bulu, M. Hariyadi Wahyudi, and Rabiatul Adawiyah.

In handling this case, the police have examined at least 120 witnesses, experts, and found the results of the audit of state losses from BPKP NTB worth Rp1.58 billion from the nominal procurement of Rp12.3 billion.

In determining the suspect, investigators applied Article 2 paragraph (1) and/or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law no. 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
