The Halal Fest 2025 managed to collect donations worth more than Rp1.8 billion to be distributed to our brothers and sisters in Palestine. The event, which is part of the 50th Anniversary of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), is a place to strengthen humanitarian solidarity.

"The funds will be channeled through the Tangerang City Baznas to Palestinians in need as a tangible manifestation of the concern of Muslims in this area for humanitarian conditions," said Tangerang City Baznas Chairman KH M Aslie Elhusyiairy in Tangerang, quoted from ANTARA Sunday, July 27.

KH M. Aslie said the fundraising of Rp1.8 billion came from donations from the collection of the MUI Palestinian Care Team amounting to Rp914 million and donations from City Government employees amounting to Rp918 million.

"Halal Fest 2025 MUI Tangerang City is an event that brings great benefits to the people of Tangerang City and Palestinians," he said.

Tangerang Mayor Sahrudin expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all state civil servants (ASN) within the Tangerang City Government who sincerely show their solidarity for the Palestinian people.

"This assistance is a form of empathy and concern born from the hearts of Tangerang City Government employees. Hopefully it can ease the burden on our brothers and sisters in Palestine who are suffering from prolonged conflict," said the mayor.

Sahrudin added that since its establishment in 1975, MUI has played a strategic role in maintaining the purity of Islamic teachings, strengthening ukhuwah, and providing fatwas and enlightenment on various problems of the people.

"In the midst of the dynamics of the times, MUI continues to be present as a director and director of the people," said Sahrudin.

Sahrudin highlighted the new challenges faced by people in the globalization and digitalization era, ranging from hoaxes, radicalism, to moral degradation.

"In this situation, the role of MUI is increasingly important as the frontline in spreading Islam rahmatan lilalamin, maintaining harmony between religious believers, and stemming deviant ideas," he said.
