Minister Of PKP Signs MoU For Subsidized House Program For Ngaji Teachers To Islamic Organizations

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Maruarar Sirait, revealed that Koran teachers can have a government subsidy house.

"Now is the time for Koran teachers to also have government subsidies," said PKP Minister Maruarar Sirait in Jakarta, Saturday, July 26, 2025.

Maruarar stated that the PKP Ministry would cooperate with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) to provide subsidized houses for dai, Koran teachers, Islamic activists, and employees of Islamic community organizations (ormas).

At the 50th Anniversary of MUI's Tasyakur activity, it was themed "MUI Menyembuh For the Benefits of the People and the Harmony of the Nation" attended by the 13th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, KH Ma'aruf Amin, the Minister of PKP together with the General Chairperson of MUI, KH M Anwar Iskandar, and representatives of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) signed a memorandum of understanding (Mou) between the Ministry of PKP and MUI and BPS, regarding the Provision and Update of Data and/or Statistical Information as well as the Implementation of Housing for Dai, Ngaji Teachers, Islamic Activists, and Employees of Islamic Community Organizations within MUI.

In addition, Maruarar Sirait also symbolically gave the keys to 25 Koran teachers and religious teachers who were present in the mass contract of Bank BTN subsidies.

The subsidized housing program is one of the Government's efforts to reduce the housing backlog which reaches 9.9 million.

"We hope that MUI can also provide support for the 3 Million House Program, which is a priority program for President Prabowo Subianto's administration to improve people's welfare through housing programs," said Ara.

To date, 1,975 Koran teachers throughout Indonesia have committed contracts for mortgages for Housing Financing Liquidity Facilities (FLPP) to own subsidized houses.

The General Chairperson of the MUI, KH M Anwar Iskandar, expressed his gratitude for the support of the Ministry of PKP for teachers, preachers, and Islamic activists through this subsidized housing program.

"We thank you for the support of the Ministry of PKP for this subsidized house for the Koran teachers."

"He hopes that this subsidized housing program can be followed up immediately in the field so that many Koran teachers can have their own homes," he said.
