Investigating Allegations Of Internet Bandwidth Corruption, The Sleman Diskominfo Office Was Ransacked By The DIY Prosecutor's Office

The investigation team of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) searched the Office of the Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo) of Sleman Regency regarding the alleged corruption in the procurement of internet bandwidth in 2022-2024 as well as the procurement of coalcation distribution recovery center (DRC) for 2023-2025.

Head of Legal Information for the DIY Prosecutor's Office, Herwatan, said the search took place at the Sleman Diskominfo Office complex, Jl. Parasamya No. 1, Beran, Tridadi, Sleman on Thursday, July 24 at 10.30 WIB until 14.45 WIB.

"This search is a series of investigative actions according to the method regulated in the law to collect evidence," he said in his statement in Yogyakarta, Friday, which was confiscated by Antara.

Herwatan emphasized that the search was carried out based on a search warrant from the Head of the Yogyakarta Attorney General's Office on July 10, 2025 and a letter of determination of the search permit for the Chairman of the Corruption Court at the Yogyakarta District Court on July 16, 2025.

"Before conducting the search, the investigative team first coordinated with the Head of Beran Hamlet," he said.

After arriving at the location, investigators then searched several rooms of the Sleman Diskominfo office, including the archive space, the Head of the Infrastructure Division, the treasurer's room, and a number of other rooms suspected of storing procurement documents.

"From the results of the search, investigators confiscated 34 documents," he said.

The confiscated documents include budget implementation documents (DPA), work agreement letters, payment documents, and other documents related to the 2022 s/d 2024 Internet Bandwidth Procurement and Procurement of Colocation DRC Rentals for 2023 to 2025.

Herwatan explained that up to now, about 20 witnesses have been examined in the case. They come from internal Diskominfo Sleman as well as from internet service providers or Internet Service Providers (ISP), namely PT SIMS, PT GPU, and PT Gmedia.

The search is part of the investigation process based on sufficient preliminary evidence.

According to Herwatan, the investigative team strongly suspects that there has been a criminal act of corruption as regulated in Article 2 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 and/or Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption which has been amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
