JAKARTA - Since February 2023, PAM Jaya has recorded significant growth in the number of new connections, piped drinking water continues to grow and increases in line with PAM JAYA's commitment to realize 100 percent coverage of piped drinking water services throughout DKI Jakarta.
The growth of this new connection is in line with the mandate of DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation (Pergub) Number 7 of 2022 concerning assignments to PAM Jaya to accelerate the increase in the coverage of drinking water services in DKI Jakarta.
During the partnership period, there were fluctuations in the number of new connections.
Since the management by PAM Jaya in February 2023, new connection growth has increased sharply, especially throughout 2024 with growth reaching 265 percent compared to the previous year.
"From January to June 2025, 34,436 new connections have been installed, and PAM Jaya is targeting an achievement of up to 130,000 new connections by the end of 2025. This shows that all efforts and efforts made by PAM Jaya have yielded positive results in bringing Jakarta closer to 100 percent coverage of piped drinking water services," said Corporate and Customer Communication Senior Manager Gatra Vaganza in his statement, Thursday, July 24.
Thanks to real efforts to expand access to piped water for Jakarta residents, PAM Jaya won the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) award for the record for Installation of Drinking Water Installations with the most Household Connections in the past year.
This achievement is proof of PAM Jaya's optimistic steps in providing equitable and sustainable piping water services for Jakarta residents.

The positive impact of accelerating the construction of this new connection has been felt by many Jakarta residents. Access to piped drinking water that is increasingly even and easily accessible has improved the quality of life, supported health to help save daily water costs, especially for Jakarta residents who previously relied on alternative water sources that were not necessarily safe and hygienic. However, the other side of this impact will also be felt by Jakarta residents.
"PAM Jaya realizes that the construction work of piping drinking water channels, especially excavations at a number of road points, can have an impact such as traffic congestion and engineering that is difficult to avoid. PAM Jaya will continue to do its best to minimize disturbances and improve service quality for customers," said Gatra.
PAM Jaya continues to innovate and synergize to ensure that every Jakarta resident can enjoy basic rights to quality water. We believe that with collaboration, hard work, and community support, the target of 100 percent coverage of piped drinking water services will be achieved according to the planned target.
