The Coalition Political Parties Supporting Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin Gather At The PDIP Office, Discuss What?

JAKARTA - The Secretary General of the coalition political parties supporting Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin gathered at the PDI-P DPP office, Jakarta. This meeting was held to stay in touch as well as break the fast.

Present at the meeting were Secretary General of the PDIP DPP Hasto Kristiyanto, Secretary General of the United Development Party (PPP) Arwani Thomafi, and Secretary General of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Hasanuddin Wahid.

In addition, there were also Secretary General of the Crescent Star Party (PBB) Afriansyah Noor, Secretary General of Perindo Ahmad Rofiq, Secretary General of the Indonesian Justice and Unity Party (PKPI) Verry Surya Hendrawan, and the former secretary general who is currently the Secretary of the PSI Advisory Council, Raja Juli Antoni.

As the host, Hasto expressed his gratitude for the presence of the coalition political party secretary general.

"The general chairman of Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri participated in this event online," said Hasto in a written statement, Thursday, May 6.

"PDI Perjuangan continues to build a spirit of friendship. Even before the implementation of Eid, Bung Karno asked Kiai Wahab to really make Eid in order to build a spirit of national unity and integrity, to unite all our national spirits," he added.

During the breaking of the fast, Hasto served various iftar menus such as liwet rice, meatball soup, compote, and cantaloupe ice.

"We serve typical Indonesian food. And we don't talk about politics seriously. We rarely meet because it is still a pandemic period, although so far communication has been maintained," he said.

Meanwhile, PPP Secretary General Arwani Tomafi hopes that this joint breaking event can make the coalition of parties supporting Jokowi-Ma'ruf more solid going forward.

"We all the secretaries-general of coalition parties supporting the government carry out iftar together at the PDI Perjuangan office. Hopefully through breaking the fast together in this month of Ramadan we can continue to solidify our togetherness as political parties supporting the government coalition," he said.

A similar statement was also made by former PSI Secretary General Raja Juli Antoni.

"We are happy to get together. Because the Covid pandemic causes us to physically limit our meetings. Especially when we meet in an atmosphere of Ramadan and there was a national cult from Gus Miftah," he concluded.
