Jokowi Examined With 9 Other Witnesses In Solo

JAKARTA - The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was questioned along with nine other witnesses in the alleged defamation case being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya.

The examination process for all witnesses took place at the Surakarta Police.

"Today, we meet the schedule to provide information that will be presented at the Solo Police along with other witnesses," Jokowi's attorney, Firmanto Laksana, told reporters, Wednesday, July 23.

The examination that took place in Solo, said Firmanto, was not a special treatment from the police. Rather, the efficiency of time in the process of handling an alleged criminal act.

This is because Polda Metro Jaya investigators are also examining witnesses in Solo, since Monday, July 21.

"What is certain is that on Monday when we found out that there was an investigation process carried out at the Solo Police, there were 8 witnesses and yesterday there were approximately 10," he said.

Meanwhile, for now, the number of witnesses examined is 9 people. Thus, no special treatment was carried out by the police.

"What is certain is that you are fulfilling the schedule for giving this information together with other witnesses who are currently being investigated in the Solo Police area. If I'm not mistaken today 9 yes," said Firmanto.

During the examination process, Jokowi brought several documents in the form of original diplomas from elementary school (SD), junior high school (SMP), high school (SMA), to Strata 1 Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (UGM).

"It will be handed over to investigators, depending on whether the confiscation will be carried out or not. You will consistently follow the legal process and appreciate the ongoing stages. Today he was present according to the examination schedule at the Surakarta Police," said Firmanto.
