TB Hasanuddin explained that if Satria's citizenship status had been revoked, the Indonesian government had no obligation to provide legal or diplomatic protection to Satria.

"If it has been processed and/or may have been determined that the Indonesian citizen has lost his status by the Ministry of Law, then it is not an obligation for the Indonesian government to provide protection to the person concerned," said TB Hasanuddin, Wednesday, July 23.

According to TB Hasanuddin, further checks are needed regarding citizenship status to ensure the rights and responsibilities of the state towards individuals such as Satria. This is indeed the domain and authority of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham).

Referring to Article 23 letter d of Law Number 12 of 2006 concerning Citizenship, it is stated that a person loses Indonesian citizenship if he is included in the service of foreign soldiers without the President's permission.

"The matter of loss of citizenship because it is included in the service of foreign soldiers is also regulated similarly in Article 31 paragraph 1 of Government Regulation Number 21 of 2022," explained TB Hasanuddin.

"The mechanism is then explained in Article 32, which states that the process of loss of citizenship must begin with reporting from related agencies to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," added the TNI Major General (Ret.).

Therefore, TB Hasanuddin encouraged the Government to verify first whether the administrative process was running properly and whether Satria's citizenship status was still valid.

"Perlu dicek kembali ke kementerian-kementerian tersebut, apakah Saudara Satria sudah diproses kehilangan status kewarganegaraannya," tutup TB Hasanuddin.

Seperti diketahui, melalui akun TikTok @zstorm689, Satria mengunggah video berisi permintaan maaf kepada Presiden Prabowo Subianto, Wakil Presiden Gibran Rakabuming Raka, serta Menteri Luar Negeri Sugiono atas kesalahannya menandatangani kontrak militer dengan Kementerian Pertahanan Rusia.

Satria mengaku tak menyadari bahwa tindakannya bisa berakibat pada kehilangan kewarganegaraan Indonesia. Ia pun meminta agar bisa kembali menjadi WNI.

Satria admitted that she did not realize that her actions could result in the loss of Indonesian citizenship. He also asked to be able to return to being an Indonesian citizen.
