Update On COVID-19 As Of 6 May: 5,647 New Cases, 1,697,305 Accumulated Cases

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 76,273 specimens were examined with the results of 5,647 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1,697,305 people and 98,277 active cases," data quoted from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, May 6.

Today's recovered cases have increased by 5,440 cases, so that a total of 1,552,532 people have recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 147 people and a total of 46,496 people.

The province with the most new cases is in West Java with 1,038 cases and a total of 286,868 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 905 new cases with a total of 413,323 cases. Riau has 520 new cases and a total of 47,151 cases. Then, West Sumatra has 416 new cases and a total of 38,261 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 1,588 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an additional 566 recovered cases, Riau with an additional 478 recovered cases, and West Central Java with an additional 407 recovered cases.

There are two provinces that reported no new cases as of today. The provinces that reported zero new cases were West Sulawesi and North Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 15,002,289.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.45 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 77,775 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently there are 12,995,710 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 8,317,944 vaccinated against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
