Deputy Speaker Of The House Of Representatives: Transfer Of IKN Seeing The Preparedness Of The State Budget

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, responded to the suggestion of the NasDem Party asking the government to immediately launch a Presidential Decree (Keppres) that stipulates the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) as the capital city of East Kalimantan Province, if it is not yet possible to be used as the capital city of the country.

Dasco said that the transfer and acceleration of IKN development saw the readiness of the budget in the APBN.

"Look, when it comes to IKN, it's true, one, there is already a law. Second, the government also has a plan, and the budget has also been decided. So that the issue of displacement, acceleration issues, we see the readiness of the existing budget," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, July 21.

"And I think after we look around there, the development is in accordance with the budget provided by the government," continued the daily chairman of the Gerindra DPP.

Dasco said that his party was following the government's readiness to move the capital to IKN or make IKN the capital city of East Kalimantan. He also admitted that he did not know whether the budget for IKN was increasing or not in the 2026 State Budget.

"I don't know whether the 2026 budget will increase or not. However, there are targets from the government when there is also a target for the transfer readiness. We will follow it," said Dasco.
