Inaugurating 40 New Investigators, KPK Chair: Ujung Tombak Carrier Of Deterrent Effects For Corruptors

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) inaugurated new investigators at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada today. They are expected to carry out their duties to provide a deterrent effect for perpetrators of corruption.

"Ladies and gentlemen are the spearhead of law enforcement, the KPK believes that with its capacity and integrity, you will carry out your mandate as well as possible, especially in strengthening enforcement efforts as an approach that brings a deterrent effect to perpetrators of corruption," said KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto in an official statement from the institution, Friday, July 18.

A total of 40 employees were inaugurated, details were 9 investigators and 31 investigators. Setyo hopes that they can work together while still being controlled by their leaders.

"Delegation of duties and authorities must be interpreted appropriately. The control and managerial functions remain in the hands of the leadership which must be interpreted appropriately," he said.

Setyo also said that investigators and investigators who served first must be mentors. Moreover, not all who are appointed have a legal educational background.
