The Bandung District Attorney (Kejari) has detained the former Head of the West Bandung Regency Health Service (Kadinkes) with the initials ES along with two other suspects related to allegations of corruption in the procurement of COVID-19 laboratory cars in the 2021 fiscal year.
The head of the Bandung District Attorney's Office, Donny Haryono Setyawan, in Soreang, Friday said the three suspects detained today were ES as a former Kadinkes, RDS as a commitment-making official (PPK), and CG as director of PT MAS.
Donny explained that this case stems from the project to procure COVID-19 laboratory cars worth Rp6.74 billion by the West Bandung District Health Office, and PT MAS was declared the winner of the auction with a contract value of Rp4.4 billion.
"However, according to the results of the investigation, the procurement is not based on needs. The laboratory and support for the KBB medical have never applied for caravan procurement, nor has there been any preparation of a working reference frame (SEZ) or self-estimated price (HPS)," said Donny.
The Kejari also suspects that there has been a conspiracy between ES and CG to win PT MAS, even though the private company is engaged in building construction and is not a vehicle carcass, and does not have a caroseri certification as required in the auction.
