JAKARTA - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed his readiness to visit Indonesia after Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto invited him to visit when the two met in Belarus (15/7).
On his way back to the country after a visit in France, President Prabowo briefly stopped at President Lukashenko's residence, Ozyorny, which is located outside the capital Minsk.
"Mr. President, after the restoration of this house (formerly a military house), before you, only President Putin visited this house. In the past, even before his restoration, (China President) Xi Jinping visited here with his family," said President Lukashenko when welcoming President Prabowo's arrival, quoted from an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Wednesday, July 16.
President Prabowo is the second president after Russian President Vladimir Putin, who came to President Lukashenko's residence after being restored.
In the relaxed and friendly 3-hour meeting, President Prabowo and President Lukashenko discussed a number of strategic issues, including opportunities for cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
"I am pleased to welcome you to this house and ready to discuss all issues that may be on the agenda of our relationship," added President Lukashenko as quoted by ANTARA.
