Prabowo Proud Of The Republic Of Indonesia To Be The First Country In Asia To Lead The Defile Bastille Day

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his pride in the participation of the Indonesian Patriot II Task Force Contingent at the 2025 Bastille Day military parade in Paris.

The Head of State said that the Indonesian military's appearance marked the first time in history for a country in Asia to be trusted to lead a military defile in the celebration of French National Day at Champs-Obviouslys.

"We are given the honor of being able to lead the defile, this French National Day is something that is the first time in history, a country from Asia leads the defile," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 16.

The President conveyed that Indonesia had great honor from the French Government in commemoration of this year's French National Day.

"France gives great honor, they view us as a very important country," said President Prabowo.

In addition to attending state ceremonies, Prabowo also held a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron.

During the meeting, the two discussed various strategic, bilateral and global issues.

"I also had a long talk with President Macron, discussing many issues, quite very productive," Prabowo said.

This meeting took place after the celebration of Bastille Day, where Prabowo was present as the guest of honor.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening Indonesia-France bilateral relations as well as various global strategic issues, including the Israeli conflict of Palestine.

Both agreed to support the two-state solution as a just and sustainable path of peace. President Prabowo also praised France's role in helping Indonesia's interests in Europe.
