JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the majority of major cities in Indonesia will be cloudy to rainy on Tuesday, July 15.

BMKG forecaster, Rira A. Damanik explained that there is the potential for cloudyness in Banda Aceh and Pekanbaru, as well as thick clouds in Padang and the potential for light rain in Medan and Tanjung Pinang.

"Still on the island of Sumatra, there is the potential for running air in Bengkulu, thick cloudy in Jambi and Bandarlampung, and the potential for light rain in the Palembang and Pangkal Pinang areas," said Rira, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday morning.

Rira said that in Java there is also the potential for thick cloudyness in the Serang, Bandung, Semarang, and Surabaya areas. The potential for light rain is found in Jakarta and Yogyakarta.

Meanwhile, in the areas of Bali and Nusa Tenggara, there is the potential for cloudyness in the Kupang area and light rain in Mataram and Denpasar.

"Furthermore, for the Kalimantan region, there is the potential for thick cloudyness in Pontianak, the potential for light rain in Samarinda, Palangka Raya, and Banjarmasin, and the potential for moderate rain in Tanjung Selor," he explained.

Meanwhile, in the Sulawesi area, said Rira, there is the potential for thick cloudyness in Kendari, light rain in Makassar and Gorontalo, and be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in the Mamuju, Palu, and Manado areas.

"For the eastern part of Indonesia, there is the potential for cloudyness in Merauke, the potential for light rain in the areas of Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Manokwari, Nabire, Jayapura, and Jayawijaya," he said.
