Coordinating Minister BG: Useful People's Schools For Strengthening Pancasila Ideology

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polkam) Budi Gunawan said the People's School program was useful for strengthening the quality of human resources (HR) and the Pancasila ideology.

"The People's School is not just an ordinary education program, but is a bulwark of the Pancasila ideology that we must protect together," Budi Gunawan reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 14.

According to the man who is familiarly called BG, strengthening the Pancasila ideology is something that is very much needed by the community today.

This is because people are now very easy to accept information or culture that is against the nation's ideology through various electronic devices.

Therefore, special education programs such as People's Schools are needed to strengthen public understanding of the importance of the Pancasila ideology.

"The People's School is here to filter and provide a correct understanding of the identity of the Indonesian nation," said BG.

BG continued, in practice, the People's School will integrate the state defense curriculum with regular subjects.

He ensured that students would be provided with an in-depth understanding of the history of the nation's struggle, the values of Pancasila, and the spirit of nationalism that is adaptive to the times.

Later, the government will target every region in Indonesia to have a minimum of one People's School which is a pilot for strengthening ideological resilience at the grassroot level.

He hopes that the People's School program can be supported by all parties, including the entire community.

"The resilience of the nation's ideology cannot only rely on a top-down approach, but it must start from the grassroots. Support for People's Schools is a concrete answer to these needs," said BG.
