Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture Claims To Search For Social Assistance Recipients Who Play Online Gambling

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM) Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar claims to continue to search for recipients of social assistance (bansos) who use the assistance to play judionline (judol).

He emphasized that anyone who gets social assistance and is used for judol activities will be subject to sanctions.

"We can reduce the assistance, the assistance can be deleted," said the man who is familiarly called Cak Imin as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 12.

The plan to remove social assistance to recipients who are proven to have used assistance for online gambling has also been stated by Cak Imin on Tuesday, July 8.

Previously, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) found 571,410 population identification numbers (NIK) registered as recipients of social assistance involved as judol players throughout 2024.

The total deposit of online gambling from 571,410 NIK recipients of social assistance during 2024 reached Rp957 billion with 7.5 million transactions.

Regarding these findings, PPATK has been invited to cooperate by the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure that social assistance is distributed effectively and on target according to President Prabowo Subianto's direction.

The results of the analysis of the account of the recipient of social assistance from PPATK will be used as a guideline to ensure that it is right on target, in the midst of the many accounts of social assistance recipients who are allegedly dormant or do not make any transactions, unless they receive transfers.

As of July 1, 2025, the Ministry of Social Affairs reported that more than IDR 20 trillion of social assistance had been distributed to tens of millions of beneficiary families (KPM), with details of social assistance for the Family Hope Program (PKH) of more than 8 million KPM or 80.49 percent of the total KPM quota with a value of IDR 5.8 trillion.

Meanwhile, for basic food assistance, it has been distributed to more than 15 million KPM or around 84.71 percent of the target, with a value of Rp9.2 trillion.

For the thickening of social assistance, additional assistance of Rp. 200 thousand per month for two months to 18.3 million KPM has also been distributed to 15 million KPM, with a value of Rp. 6.19 trillion.
