Minister Of Religion: Non-ASN Mandrasah Teacher Allowance Increases To IDR 2 Million Per Month

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion (Menag), Nasaruddin Umar stated that professional allowances for non-ASN Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers under the guidance of the Ministry of Religion who have not participated in inpassing increased by IDR 500 thousand to IDR 2 million per month.

"With increasing welfare, I hope that teachers are not only professional in teaching, but also role models in educating and developing the potential of students, both physically and spiritually," said Nasaruddin Umar, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 11.

The government has officially set a new regulation that provides certainty and increased allowances for non-ASN PAI teachers. The regulation is contained in the Regulation of the Minister of Religion (PMA) Number 4 of 2025 concerning Procedures for Providing Teacher Professional Allowances, not ASN Employees at the Ministry of Religion, as well as Decree of the Minister of Religion (KMA) Number 646 of 2025 concerning Teacher Professional Allowances, not ASN Employees.

Through this policy, professional allowances for non-inpassing non-ASN teachers were increased to IDR 2,000,000 per month from the previous IDR 1,500,000. In addition, the government will also pay a shortage of IDR 500,000 per month starting January 2025.

Nasaruddin said that the regulation had gone through a harmonization process with the Ministry of Law and other relevant ministries, until it was finally ratified through PMA and KMA.

"This step is a tangible form of the government's alignment with the welfare of teachers," said Nasaruddin.

Director General of Islamic Education, Amien Suyitno emphasized that all heads of provincial offices of the Ministry of Religion must immediately instruct the head of PAI to socialize the contents of this regulation to the district/city level.

"This socialization is addressed to the Head of the PAI Section," he said.

Suyitno requested that the process of disbursing allowances, including customer payments, be immediately carried out and closely monitored so that they comply with the provisions in PMA, KMA and applicable technical instructions.

"PAI teachers are looking forward to this regulation, because it will have a direct impact on their welfare. Therefore, I ask the ranks of the Ministry of Religion in the regions to immediately follow up and monitor the disbursement," said Suyitno.

Meanwhile, the Director of PAI of the Ministry of Religion M. Munir emphasized that he would continue to oversee the implementation of this policy throughout Indonesia. Non-ASN PAI teachers who are mostly appointed by school principals, foundations, and local governments must also be proactive in accessing this policy.

This PAI teacher who receives professional allowances is a teacher who already has an educator certificate and meets the requirements for fulfilling 24 hours face-to-face meetings, including fulfillment through the complete training of reading the Koran (TBQ) with a maximum recognition of 6 million hours.

"We ensure that no non-ASN PAI teachers are left behind in accepting their rights as long as they meet the requirements as stipulated in technical instructions (Juknis)," said Munir.
