Commission X Of The House Of Representatives Will Call The Minister Of Education And Culture To Discuss SPMB 2025 Fraud Next Week

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR Lalu Hadrian Irfani said his party would summon the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu'ti to discuss the problem of cheating the New Student Admission System (SPMB) for the 2025-2026 Academic Year.

Then he said, one of the things that became a concern was the widespread practice of updating values on student report cards to pursue the path of achievement. He revealed that Commission X of the DPR is also investigating fraud and the weakness of the SPMB which is a new policy to replace New Student Admissions (PPDB) for the 2025/2026 school year.

"We plan to hold a working meeting with the Minister of Education and Culture next week. Indeed, we are also investigating the fraud and weaknesses of this SPMB. Although of course there are good things from the SPMB. This is a new policy and of course it also needs adaptation," said Lalu, Thursday, July 10.

"The government has tried to find the best solution, but the gap for fraud is still open as well. For example, conditioning the report card value for academic achievement pathways still occurs a lot," he continued.

Therefore, the head of the DPR's education commission assesses that the government and the DPR must find a solution so that the implementation of the SPMB in the future can be even better. Then also said that the government needed to work hard to improve the policy of accepting new students in schools.

"So this is a challenge in the future that we have to find another solution. If it's perfect, it's not easy, it takes effort and hard work," he explained.

Then also emphasized the principle of justice and transparency of information on prospective students must be put forward in every policy taken by the government. He also ensured that Commission X of the DPR would oversee the implementation of SPMB in all parts of Indonesia.

"Commission X DPR RI views that the principle of justice access, transparency of information, and protection of students from vulnerable groups must be the main pillar in every new student admission policy," he concluded.

Previously, the Ombudsman reported various findings of fraud in the implementation of the SPMB as has happened in the implementation of PPDB in the previous government era.

This form of fraud is like illegal levies that occurred by the school committee, both on the grounds of purchasing uniforms and so on. Then fraud for the domicile path where there are differences in the residence of students and where children go to school is still found in several places. For example, there are students who live in Jakarta but study in Bekasi.

Meanwhile, from the achievement path, the Ombudsman found that there were counterfeiting and there was no transparency in the calculation of achievement values as happened in Depok, West Java.

For the affirmation pathway at the SPMB, the Ombudsman assessed that the local government was still stuttering to determine who deserved the affirmation and marginalization of persons with disabilities.

Of all these problems, the Ombudsman said the main problem was due to the absence of a mapping from the local government regarding the need for new student admissions in the regions.
